I don't know about now, but when I was a kid I definitely could not join girl scouts and even buying the cookies was taboo

Hi, I am kind of new here. I have not tried the other sites yet. But I have to say I am very interested in the stories of the "old timers" sometimes I read a profile the their previous posts. I can't get enough of individual stories of people who have been through what I am. So please keep it coming.

The reason I'm coming to this conclusion is that I have evidence that elders are already asking faders this very question: "Do you still wish to be known as a JW?"
It's a loaded Q, as we all know. Answer incorrectly and you are DAing yourself in front of 2 witnesses. This exact scenario happened to me about a month ago. My spidey-senses kicked in and I knew it was a trap so I just danced around the question instead of answering.

Good for your son Sooner! I also have mine sports year round (hockey, baseball, football) and he absolutely loves it. It's great for their self-esteem, teaches them good qualities and its good for their health too!

Towards the end of my JW life, I would never read the magazines for service so I had no idea what they were about and I would BS my way through the whole presentation. Im sure the householder could tell

I always hated it. When I started fading, that was a big reason why I didn't want to go to meetings from time to time because of everyone coming up to me and telling me they miss me, yada, yada, yada, etc, etc. It is very shallow because 99% of those that were love bombing me only told me they were missing me when they saw me at the kingdom hall. They never bothered to call or come over and tell me this (which I wouldn't have wanted anyway haha!). When I do go to the memorial once a year (because I love my dad and I know it makes him happy) I like to slip in right before it starts and dart out right after to avoid the all the "love"

My sagging garage door opening needs help
by Fatfreek inmy 8 foot wide garage door opening is beginning to look ugly.
the top of the opening (the header) sags approximately 1 inch in the middle.
to solve the problem, i think i need to place a jack in the middle, force it up till there's no sag (i've already done this with my hydraulic jack and a sturdy wooden column), then fasten, say, an 8 foot long steel plate to the inside wall face of the opening.
